blue men are everywhere, and there is no way to escape them.
most people pass through in shades i barely register. but some arrive already blue: magnetic, vivid and impossible to look away from. they are the ones who make a room feel different the moment they walk into it.
this quadriptych is an attempt to show just how often that happens. four canvases, four backgrounds and one same recurring figure, because it is never really four different men. it is one pattern, repeating itself in different lighting and different circumstances.
i painted this not to complain about them, but to finally look at the pattern instead of living inside it; to ask what it is i keep recognizing, and why i keep mistaking recognition for connection. these paintings are part of an ongoing series exploring how synesthesia shapes not just what i see, but who i fall for, and how long it takes to notice i've seen this exact color before.
