FOOT ON SOIL

this foot was inspired by an encounter that left me truly grounded.

we move through life differently depending on who we're with. some people leave us suspended; floating and searching for solid ground. others make us feel like we've arrived somewhere. somewhere that feels like home.

this painting is not just about a foot. it's about what certain people do to us, the rare ones who make us feel welcome, rooted and ultimately loved.

for this piece i wanted to go bigger than i ever had before. as i painted, i kept thinking about bigfoot, because the encounter that inspired this came from british columbia. thank you for the inspiration.
