most blue men get a rectangle — four straight edges, an easy container for a complicated pattern. this one gets a circle instead, because some of them really do just go in circles.

there's no corner to escape to on a round canvas, no edge to trail off toward. he's stuck orbiting the same center, which, in hindsight, is a pretty accurate way to paint most of them.
